3 weeks post-op exercises

At three weeks post-op Nick's physio upped his exercise routine a little. The general idea seems to be threefold - firstly to get him more mobile, secondly to strengthen his back, hips and legs and thirdly to improve his flexibility.

His new routine consists of the following
  • cycling, initially indoors on a stationary bike
  • swimming, going to start next week at an aqua therapy pool
  • walking
  • sitting, but limiting to 20 minutes then brief walk then resume 20 minutes sitting
  • the Clam and sit to stand exercises from 1 week post op
  • lunges

  • bridge with stability ball

  • wobble board balancing

  • standing hamstring stretches

During the course of the day Nick works his way through the above interspersed with resting by lying down. He does the clam and sit to stand more regularly, after any of the other exercises. Our living room is beginning to look like a home gym!
